The Shadow Government orchestrated a series of terrorist attacks designed to keep people afraid so they would not react when their civil liberties were taken away from them. These attacks also set in motion a cry for war against oil rich countries in the east.

The Trans National Companies have dispatched the first interplanetary regiment ever devised by the Earth to exterminate the Martian Colony. If you defeat them the corporations will lose trillions and be too bankrupt to subjugate both Earth and Mars.
